2026 National Civics Bee
The Rutgers Democracy Lab is proud to be partnering with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation to host a nonpartisan civics competition that encourages young Americans to engage in civics and contribute to their communities.
Event Information
The 2026 New Jersey state finals for the National Civics Bee will take place on July 8, 2026 at the Livingston Student Center on the Rutgers-New Brunswick Campus. Doors will open at 11 am, with the competition beginning promptly at 12 pm.
Registration is open to the public, but all attendees must register in advance to gain entry to the event.
2026 New Jersey State Finals
The 2026 National Civics Bee New Jersey State Finals will take place on July 8th, 2026 at 11 am at the Livingston Student Center.

RDL is hosting the 2026 National Civics Bee New Jersey State Finals because we believe that informed and active citizens make for a strong country, a strong economy, and a strong workforce; and that our continued prosperity depends on the strength of all three. Through the Bee, we are promoting greater civic knowledge throughout New Jersey and celebrating our civic pride.

Hundreds of New Jersey middle school students applied to participate in the 2026 National Civics Bee with innovative ideas about using civics to improve their communities. The top finalists from the State Competition will be invited to Washington, DC to compete in the National Civics Bee National Championship in Fall 2026.
