Think & Do Tank 

Applications for the 2026-2027 Cohort Open Soon

  • Seeking 25 Rutgers-New Brunswick students for the latest cohort of our Think & Do Tank.

    Spots are limited; applications reviewed on a rolling basis. Apply by March 2, 2026.

    The Think and Do Tank is an immersive civic learning and capacity building experience, strengthening students’ skills in democratic citizenship and problem-solving through:

    • Identifying problems at the local, state, or national level
    • Proposing actionable solutions to challenges facing democracy
    • Bringing suggested solutions and ideas to reality with guided support from faculty and expert practitioners

    Selected students will receive a $1500 stipend in the fall semester and a $1500 stipend for the spring semester. Students are required to participate in both semesters.

  • This opportunity is currently open to Rutgers-New Brunswick undergraduate students only, and they must maintain availability for both semesters.

    Please note that current Eagleton Institute of Politics Undergraduate Associates are ineligible for this opportunity.

  • Selected Rutgers-New Brunswick undergraduate students are required to enroll in a 3-credit course (03:907:206) in the fall and 03:907:207 in the spring. The course meets on Thursdays from 10:20 a.m. - 1:20 p.m. in the Drawing Room of Wood Lawn at 191 Ryders Lane, New Brunswick, during the fall semester and on the same day and time at the Hatchery on College Avenue in the spring. A special permission number will be provided to accepted students for each semester.

    The fall semester will involve learning through a variety of modalities including:

    • Readings, discussions, and guest lecturers
    • Field trips and simulations
    • Creation of digital content to inspire civic engagement
    • Project-based learning

    In the spring, students will implement suggested solutions to the public problems identified during the fall semester.
