Most civic programs stop at knowledge. But in today’s world, young people need more than facts — they need information. This training helps educators offer experiences that ground students in a sense of self, community, and purpose in public life.

Participants will participate in a text-study that develops critical thinking and intellectual skills needed to thoughtfully navigate today's complex, information rich-world; practice in experiential learning that integrates the person's whole being: physical, emotional, and intellectual; and, reflection so that one can organize thoughts with others to identify gaps in understanding, test ideas in real-time, and deepen understanding.

After the workshop, participants feel a sense of conviction in their own civic values and a commitment to living those values as a member of the community, understand how to practice citizenship by using civic power and living with civic character, and build and act on healthier civic habits to take responsibility for the greater good.
