Seeing Conspiracies: Multimodal Diffusion in the AI Era

This project (1) examines the detection and diffusion of conspiracy theories on Truth Social, an online social media platform, and (2) investigates the diffusion mechanisms of conspiracy theories across different modalities, including text, images, and videos. By doing so, it seeks to advance our understanding of how democratic resilience can be strengthened at the intersection of AI, media, and online political communication.

This project is co-authored with Thomas Davidson, Assistant Professor of Sociology, Rutgers–New Brunswick.
