Project Description: Since businesses play a key role in supporting or undermining democracy, business students need to study ethics and develop critical thinking skills. We want our graduates to enter the business world with the moral imagination to comprehend their obligations as individual and corporate citizens. Teaching ethics and critical thinking is not simply lecturing students on what to think, but on how to think. This project will develop a six-hour critical thinking module that can be used in business ethics classes and other courses. The module will cover the basics of inductive and deductive arguments, logical fallacies, and some elements of rhetoric. Students will learn to spot fallacious arguments through lectures, examples, and exercises. The module will be offered to the public for free.
