RDL Think & Do Tank: Fall 2025

Seeking 25 Rutgers-New Brunswick students for the inaugural Think & Do Tank.

The Think and Do Tank is an immersive civic learning and capacity building experience, strengthening students’ skills in democratic citizenship and problem-solving through:

  • Identifying problems at the local, state, or national level
  • Proposing actionable solutions that align with the inaugural theme
  • Bringing suggested solutions and ideas to reality with guided support from faculty and expert practitioners

Selected students will receive a $3000 stipend in the fall semester and a $3000 stipend for the spring semester. Students are required to participate in both semesters.

Who is eligible?

This opportunity is currently open to Rutgers-New Brunswick undergraduate students only. Additional cohorts coming to Newark and Camden campuses in Fall 2026.

Please note that current Eagleton Institute of Politics Undergraduate Associates are ineligible for this opportunity but are encouraged to apply at another time.

Applicants must be available for interviews via Zoom on June 2, 3, or 4.

If I’m selected, what can I expect?

Selected Rutgers-New Brunswick undergraduate students are required to enroll in a 3-credit course (03:907:206). The course meets on Thursdays from 10:20 a.m. - 1:20 p.m. in the Drawing Room of Wood Lawn at 191 Ryders Lane, New Brunswick, during the fall semester. A special permission number will be provided to accepted students.

The fall semester will involve learning through a variety of modalities including:

  • Readings, discussions, and guest lecturers
  • Field trips and simulations
  • Creation of digital content to inspire civic engagement
  • Project-based learning

In the spring, students will implement suggested solutions to the public problems identified during the fall semester. Students are required to enroll in a forthcoming course for the spring semester.
